Position Summary: The Warehouse Supervisor provides front line daily direction and leadership to a team of hourly warehouse employees. Recruits, trains and develops the team while adhering to safety and departmental objectives such as ensuring the productivity, efficiency and placement of accurate orders in the shipping operation. 

Responsibilities:

•Provides hands-on supervision of the warehouse to maximize workforce productivity and accuracy, overseeing receipt, storage, and shipping of products, product movement and storage systems,
•Gives daily direction on shipping and receiving schedules, ensuring that all product delivery targets and production goals are achieved and is responsible for the efficient utilization of all team members.
•Works with customer service to provide best in-stock dates where required; helps to identify opportunities to provide exceptional customer service.
•Achieves established customer order fill rates. Provides reports as necessary to measure and monitor KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) of the warehouse operation.
•Ensures timely actions on customer complaints and develops root cause analysis to resolve customer issues, communicating with Sales and Customer Service staff regarding individual shipment delays.
•Provides leadership in improving operating efficiencies and achieves proficiency objectives by reporting warehouse operational issues, recommendations, and status updates to management.
•Reviews, prepares and executes action plans for the improvement of production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.
•Completes inventory and cycle counting events in a timely and accurate manner.
•Interviews and selects new employees. Provides orientations and position training to new team members,assigning, scheduling, and coaching employees.
•Communicates job expectations, assignment planning, monitoring, reviewing, and appraising employee job performance, and contributions.
•Reviews safety guidelines, workplace safety policies and OSHA requirements with warehouse employees.
•Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing Company policies, standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
•Takes responsibility for securing products in stock and related equipment.
•Develops warehouse operational flow for processing inbound, and out bound shipments both LTL and truckload.
•Determines priorities for warehouse laborers on a daily basis dependent upon orders and time sensitive shipments.
•Assists in determining product handling and storage requirements, implements, and oversees, processes for receiving product, equipment utilization/maintenance, inventory management, and shipping.
•Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. 
•Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

Requirements: 

•High School Diploma or equivalent is required. College education in related fields preferred.
•Five years of warehouse experience with emphasis on Supply Chain, Transportation or Logistics
•Progressive knowledge of warehouse operations; working knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques
•Two years of supervisory experience, running a stand-along warehouse or warehouse department
•Excellent verbal and written communications skills
•Team player, problem solver, good coaching/teaching skills
•Ability to handle multiple priorities, changes in priority and able to hit deadlines as required in a fast paced environment
•Computer experience to include SAP and Microsoft Office
