The LaGrange, GA  facility is hiring for a Technical Specialist.  

This position helps manage all functions related to plant maintenance, equipment maintenance, construction, and management to ensure efficient and effective operation of the facility. The incumbent will help effectively manage plant projects in regards to repairs, safety initiatives, and environmental compliance.

 

  • Establishes preventive maintenance schedules, and insures completion of activities in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for direct reports across multiple shifts, including hiring, directing activities, training and developing skills, appraising, rewarding and disciplining performance.
  • Directs daily department activities in order to maximize equipment utilization and support production needs.
  • Establishes preventive maintenance schedules, and insures completion of activities in a timely manner.
  • Help with and maintain metrics established by corporate, facility and management including but not limited to KPI’s.
  • Forecasts operating costs of department and directs preparation of budget requests.
  • Generates maintenance logs and other operations metrics.
  • Coordinates all contract activities in tandem with the Facilities Manager, and monitors all facility contract obligations from vendors.
  • Ensure reliable operation of plant equipment and develop methods to enhance or upgrade manufacturing processes to eliminate waste, reduce cost and improve overall production productivity.
  • Maintain all machines, equipment and the upkeep of facility.
  • Order and maintain effective spare part inventory.
  • Responsible for maintaining operating efficiencies of production machines.
  • Counseling, leadership and direction to the hourly maintenance employees.
  • Enforces plant rules, monitors attendance and provides corrective action as necessary.
  • Conducts regular department safety meetings.
  • Coordinates improvements activities with other departments.
  • Ensures maintenance area is kept clean, tidy, organized, and all safety standards are being met.
  • Other duties as needed or assigned.
  • On call 24/7.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Manage all capital projects.
  • Coordinate machine upgrades / downtime with facility management.

Job Requirements

 

  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

      • Bachelor degree in engineering or operations management and 3 years supervisory experience in manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
      • Management experience in operations, maintenance, engineering and/or process improvement roles including managing teams of people
      • Previous experience working in a Lean environment; Embraces continuous improvement
      • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification a plus
      • Strong financial acumen including an understanding of the budgeting process and how they relate to KPIs
      • Exceptional leadership, change management and communication skills
      • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
