Basic Function:

This role is responsible for coordinating direct procurement for our manufacturing plants. The initial scope is steel procurement for our $2B North American Large Packaging SBU, but with the potential to grow into responsibility for additional commodities across all SBUs globally. The role focuses on three key areas: managing supply & demand; analysis; and conducting trials for process improvements. Previous experience in procurement or supply chain management is not required.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage supply and demand of raw materials for our manufacturing plants. This includes forecasting, interacting with suppliers, and logistics.
  • Conduct analysis including build vs. buy decisions, financial modeling, and identifying underperforming or inefficient processes and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Interact with the manufacturing plants to conduct, monitor, and document trials for performance improvement.

 

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • MBA/business school degree (supply chain, commodity management or logistics, or related field)
  • 2-3 years’ minimum work experience
  • Ability to work independently, but also the awareness to ask for help when needed
  • Suitable background in economic decision-making
  • Ability to take a quantitative approach to decision-making
  • Experience with matrix and project organizations
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Willingness to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to be assertive
  • Very strong skills in Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
