Purpose and Scope:

This position is accountable for the Supplier Management Process for the metal group. Activities, such as, but not limited to: supplier approval, product qualification, auditing, performance monitoring, problem resolution, and specification development are part of the scope for this position.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Interface with the Procurement team to identify, develop, qualify, and develop process to measure supplier performance.
  • Interface with metal sites resources to improve Supplier performance.
  • Prepare supplier audit schedule based on risk to the business.
  • Investigate supplier relates issues including issuance of SCAR and follow-up for resolution.
  • Review, create, and implement necessary procedure to support the Supplier Management process.
  • Assist sites in supplier product qualification
  • Other tasks may be assigned to improve Quality for the business.
  • 30-50% travel required

 

Job Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in science or engineering discipline. Other degrees are acceptable with appropriate quality assurance experience.
  • Experience with Supplier Management, which includes supplier auditing.
  • Good understand of Quality Systems, preferably ISO-9001:2015.
  • Knowledge of product, application, and/or quality assurance concepts usually gained through 3 to 5 years combined experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, and/or Quality Assurance functions.
  • Desired attainment of nationally recognized certification in the areas of quality engineering (e.g., American Society for Quality CQE, CRE, CMQ/OE).
