Position Summary: This Sourcing Representative position will focus on sourcing and growing the inbound flow of our raw materials - used steel drums, poly drums and Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) - for the business. This is a key element of the reconditioning business to ensure we have raw materials coming in to recondition and resell as reconditioned containers. This will be achieved through the implementation of sourcing strategies while remaining competitive, customer focused and improving market share. This individual will work closely with the customer service, sales and logistics groups to develop a clear understanding of the current sourcing structure for inbound raw material sources.

Responsibilities

  • Be the primary point of contact for inbound raw material.
  • Make daily sourcing calls from multiples sourcing options.
  • Understand and monitor the price and competitive market conditions that affect sourcing.
  • Successfully build, influence and manage internal relationships to achieve sourcing objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors/sources for raw materials.
  • Using the systems and programs available, provide actionable data and reports to the field and management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required
  • At least 3-5 years of customer service or sales experience required
  • Strong relationship building skills, tenacity and sales bias
  • Action orientated and able to execute quickly
  • Customer focused (internal and external) – always staying in touch with the customer and their needs
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to create buy in from generator
  • Ability to effectively present information
  • Excellent problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite – above average computer skills including Excel
  • Strong work ethic 
  • Strong team orientation with ability to work collaboratively
  • Possess personal drive, self-motivation, and takes initiative to meet all deadlines
