Position Summary: The Shipping Clerk is responsible for providing shipping support to warehouse and shipping operations within the Mauser Packaging Solutions plant in Sturtevant, WI. The Shipping Clerk is responsible for the coordination of production and shipping to ensure loads are shipped correctly and timely. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing support to plant warehousing/shipping employees to ensure quality and delivery performance for the plant.
  • Interact with supervisors, operators, engineers, management, maintenance and customers. 
  • Knowledge of production scheduling, safety, housekeeping and warehousing requirements. 
  • Supervise the movement of finished goods through the warehouse from receiving through shipping and returns. 
  • Continuously measure/monitor key performance indicators (KPI's) and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy and focus on maintaining and improving operating efficiencies to include employee productivity. 
  • Determine orders required to ship and generate shipping documents (pack list, bill of lading, commercial invoice, etc.). 
  • Coordinate shipments and maintain/foster a cohesive working relationship with carriers.
  • Ensure data integrity within company enterprise systems such as TMC and SAP. 
  • Performs other duties and special projects as required.

  • Must be able to work weekends and extended shifts as needed.
  • Must be experienced and have broad knowledge of production functions such as shipping, receiving, inventory control and customer service.
  • Experience with SAP and/or TMC or other transportation management systems.
  • Creative thinker, self and problem solver.
  • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to multi-task and work well within a fast-paced environment.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are extremely important.
  • Efficient work ethic producing a thorough, high quality work product.
  • Ability to interact effectively in a variety of situations and levels.
  • Ability to anticipate, quantify and adapt to changing parameters in a time sensitive environment.

  • Must be proficient with computers and MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds on occasion.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel and/or crouch for extended periods of time.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the individual is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
