Position Overview

The Sr. Financial Analyst, Metals and FP&A will report into and primarily support the Finance Director, Metals Operations but will also have a secondary FP&A role supporting the entire Small Packaging business. Within Metals Operations, this role will support the budgeting and forecasting process, reporting and variance analysis, tracking of operational and financial KPI’s, perform analysis around operational productivity, product costing, and fixed overheads as well as other ad hoc analysis. Supporting FP&A, this role will primarily assist in compiling corporate reporting requirements ensuring consistency of form and content between the Metals and Plastic Divisions and the Corporate cost centers.


  • Compile and analyze financial inputs from Plant Controllers for Weekly Outlooks, mid-year forecasting updates, the annual operating budget, bi-weekly Productivity reviews, etc.
  • Perform Monthly / Quarterly reviews with Plants on Inventory and to ensure tight controls around Slow Moving Stock / Hold-for-Inspection quantities; compile and follow-up on monthly productivity (labor, spoilage, spend), including mid-month reviews;
  • Update and maintain trackers around performance improvement projects within the plants to ensure targeted benefits are received.
  • Review and advise on Capital Expenditure requests as well as regularly monitor CAPEX spending against targets, review expenditures for cash flow timing, ensure timely close-outs, monitor and review monthly capitalization of internal costs, etc.
  • Support ad hoc analysis and reporting requests based on one-off analysis, new analytical / reporting requests, preparation of presentation material to Sr. Management / Board, etc.
  • Own Corporate reporting templates for both Metals and Plastics business ensuring consistency of inputs, completion and accuracy of commentary, and timely submission.
  • Support division-wide projects and initiatives that may include system implementations or upgrades, process improvements, M&A initiatives, etc. as well as other regular or ad hoc needs that may arise.




Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; MBA or other applicable Masters-level degree preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience with experience (cost accounting, FP&A, etc.) within a manufacturing environment strongly desired
  • Excellent Excel skills with a good level of PowerPoint skills
  • Experience with SAP considered a plus
  • Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task efficiently and take ownership with projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a desire to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines and complete time-sensitive duties
  • High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
