Job Description

Job Title: Quality Supervisor

 

Job Summary: The quality supervisor is an integral part of the quality management system. In this role the job supervisor is expected to lead by example, deal with day to day quality issues and help develop or improve processes to achieve company objectives.

Hours: Monday through Friday 6:30 AM to 4: 30 PM with an hour lunch. There will be occasions when night shift or weekends may be required.

 

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Follow all safety procedure
  2. Supervise and mentor quality technicians in the following:
  • Safety
  • Quality checks per the quality test method
  • Standard work and requirements
  • Evaluate and monitor technicians’ performances
  • Deal with day to day quality activities
  • Review and approve technicians’ timecards on a weekly basis
  • Arrange overtime when needed to cover for vacations, special projects, etc.
  1. Lead mold/equipment qualification events.
  2. Collect data for deviations
  3. Work with engineering on getting UN test samples to the appropriate testing facility
  4. Maintain HFI program:
  • Product is tagged and moved to designated location and put on THFI in SAP
  • Direct rework activities and report out daily.
  • Ensure EBI procedure is followed per procedure
  1. Maintain gauge calibration program
  2. Maintain lab supplies
  3. Conduct GMP and LPA audits
  4. Backup role for Quality Administrator and Quality Manager
  5. Lead teams in 8D troubleshooting events
  6. Help develop quality standards
  7. Product testing

Qualification and Skills

Required:

  • Working knowledge of Excel and Word
  • At least two years’ prior supervisory experience
  • At least three years in plastic injection molding
  • At least three years with quality experience
  • Working knowledge of Infinity data collection system
  • Working knowledge of SAP

Preferred:

  • BS degree in Engineering
  • ASQ certified quality tech or higher
  • Certified in the Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
