Responsibilities:

  • Complete Quality related tasks administrative in nature to support the Chicago location.
  • Handle incoming calls or correspondences related to Quality inquiries and provide timely responses for resolution.
  • Completes paperwork, ordering of replacement material, and maintains data entry, follow-up on open tasks and 8D investigations, etc.
  • Timely response internally (within Chicago plant) and externally (other Bway sites, Sales, Bway support functions) and external Customers
  • Run reports and provide updates on Quality related KPIs (complaints, HFI, etc.).

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:     

  1. Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
  2. Ability to communicate internally (Chicago site, with other BWAY locations, support functions) and externally (with Customers).  
  3. The position will involve communication across the organization and with customers so the ability to communicate in a professional manner is paramount.
  4. Good organization, time management skills, and ability to multi-task.
  5. Knowledge of quality and manufacturing process environments needed.
  6. Knowledge of can making industry, SAP, and Infinity QS a plus.
  7. Ability to run report related to quality complaint status and other internal quality KPI(s).
  8. Must be able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to administrative quality problems.
  9. Demonstrated basic mathematical aptitude, skills in basic mathematical calculations, decimals and fractions.
  10. Must comply with quality, PPE requirements and safety and understand the importance of complying with safety policies and procedures.

 

Physical/Visual Demands/Work Environment:

  1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to walk and stand.
  2. Position is associated with pushing, pulling, climbing, handling, reaching, stretching, and working in tight and high places.
  3. Must have the physical ability and coordination to remove and replace parts that may weigh up to 25 lbs.

 

Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions:

Inside conditions, extremes of heat (100+ seasonal), exposure to humidity, working in tight areas, high noise levels from production environment, including some exposure to outside weather elements, oil and dirt.
