Purpose of the Position: 

Collects sample plastic products and tests/inspects at various stages of the production process. Compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products. Follows inspection, test plan and coordinates quality assurance system to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards. Completes quality records, reports, logs, and notes on samples, tests, production, mold sets, etc. Uses knowledge of HAZMAT and Federal Regulations concerning production and product packaging and handling.



  • Performs quality assurance testing and result recording as required by the QA test and measurement plans.  Performs additional testing as required.
  • Reviews production orders and schedules to determine product status.
  • Inspects leak detection and quality assurance testing on measurement equipment.
  • Communicates the results of any testing to the appropriate personnel.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Actively participates in monthly shift meetings and employee training sessions.
  • Follows all safety rules and procedures.


Job Requirements

Training and Experience Required

  • High School degree or technical school in manufacturing related area.  Two year degree preferred.


Other Requirements

  • Ability to multi-task in high paced manufacturing environment
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel
  • Experience with data collection software such as SQCPack or Infinity QS a plus.
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control a plus (Cpk, Ppk, control charts)
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, procedures and regulatory text
  • Ability to analyze measurement and performance data to me go/no-go decisions
  • Experience with Calipers, Pi Tapes and other measurement equipment preferred
  • Ability to communicate well in verbal and written formats
  • Ability to work with all departments to obtain the required safety and quality goals
  • Previous experience with U.N. testing requirements a plus
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to work 12-hour night shifts (8p-8a)



  • Reports indirectly to the Shift Supervisor.
  • Reports directly to the Quality Manager.
