Job Description

The Procurement Process Manager will report to the Vice President of North American Procurement located at Mauser Packaging Solutions Corporate Headquarters in Oak Brook, Illinois. 

We are seeking an individual with specific experience with implementing a “Purchase Requisition to Purchase Order” process, including ongoing management of said process, ongoing process improvement and administration of communication, training and change management of these initiatives taking place currently. This role is not intended for someone with mainly sourcing or buying background in procurement, but someone with a more technical background of the procurement process that can strategically drive these initiatives, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and have a high level of accountability in this role.

This position will be responsible for the implementation and ongoing management of a shared services partner to manage Indirect Procurement Spend for Mauser Packaging Solutions to include:

  • Leading the day-to-day development and execution of a new purchasing process, tool and organization for Indirect Procurement Spend supporting all business units and functions within MPS.
  • Responsible for building strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders while ensuring implementation and service delivery in accordance to defined SLA's/KPI's.
  • Act as a change manager in ensuring the shared services model for Indirect Procurement spend management launches on time and achieves budgeted cost savings by increasing employee adoption and usage.


  • In collaboration with our service provider, ensure smooth and successful transition as defined and measured through agreed upon plans, SLA's/KPI's.
  • Develop and maintain indirect purchasing processes (i.e. purchase requisitioning, sourcing, purchase order process) that are efficient and aligned with global projects and future growth needs.
  • Act as the global champion to drive standardization across the procurement process. Ensure proactive and positive coordination with the internal purchasing personnel across MPS sites/functions during implementation and post Go-Live transition.
  • Ensure adequate training materials are developed and maintained while also providing training and on-site support for the new process/tool across MPS sites and functions.
  • Supporting and maintaining a culture of financial discipline to drive savings and the transformation of the organization from the local, decentralized procurement model to a centralized, shared services model
  • Maintain current policies and procedures related to the indirect spend process
  • Proactively mitigate risks and resolve escalated issues.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Bachelors degree or 8+ years relevant experience
  • 3 - 5 years direct Program Management - PMP preferred
  • Proven performance history of delivery of procurement processes with a knowledge of current best practices
  • ERP experience with SAP, QAD, Microsoft Dynamics (Solomon) preferred
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization and collaborate with key functional leaders to communicate, align and develop meaningful goals and objectives
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Strong change management, communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to travel 80% through implementation; 25% after implementation
