Position Summary: 

The Process Engineer is responsible for designing and improving the injection molding and IML processes. This position will provide hands-on leadership to improve processes that impact relevant key performance indicators (KPI) such as; LCPP, scrap %, OEE, cycle times and spoilage.


  • Demonstrate safety leadership thru development of safe molding processes and training
  • Develop optimum process settings for injection molded parts
  • Improve cycle times and reduce scrap rates
  • Monitor and improve yields (part weights to target)
  • Lead part qualification testing and trials
  • Troubleshoot machinery / process / molds
  • Manage the Shoplogix data system
  • Document process settings
  • Train other employees and develop skills for all employees on all shifts
  • Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output
  • Responsible for the completion of manufacturing engineering projects as assigned
  • Plant liaison for Corporate Process Engineering Team

Job Requirements



  • Proven work experience as a Process Engineer
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years process development experience within an injection molding environment
  • Excellent technical skills
  • Knowledge of process related standards
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations
  • Analytical thinker with interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter
  • Mechanical aptitude


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Establish process standards for production machines
  • Process parts as needed to optimize a process
  • Process trials and qualifications as needed
  • Continuously improve OEE & scrap rates
  • Lead the Process Technicians in process development & training.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Improve the production floor by leading projects and process improvements
  • Assess processes, take measurements and interpret data

Education and/or Experience:


  • Experience operating injection molding presses
  • Experience training others to operate injection molding presses
  • Experience troubleshooting machinery and processes
  • BS degree in Engineering (preferred) 


  • Ability to operate injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment, specifically Demag and Husky injection presses
  • Ability to troubleshoot and work through problems
  • Ability to operator robotic part handlers
  • Ability to use tools as needed
  • Ability to work with a variety of people on the factory floor to resolve problems and optimize processes
  • Ability to use; Email, spreadsheets, Word documents
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and written
  • Mathematical Skills


Physical Demands:

 While performing the duties of this job, the process engineer is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hand and arms; and climb or balance. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or craw and talk or hear. Frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

  • Capable of working 80% hands-on the production floor with machinery
