Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Prepare, process, calculate and audit weekly/semi-monthly full cycle payroll for multiple states; according to current procedures ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payroll checks
  • Ensures payroll information is reported correctly to federal, state and local agencies while being in compliance of payroll laws
  • Handle the administrative duties including ensuring the proper training is provided to supervisors and manager of the electronic timekeeping system
  • Lead the departmental support efforts in collaboration with the Payroll manager with research and response to payroll inquiries related to payroll taxes, deductions, wage withholding's, etc.
  • Understand the process of timely tax deposits and state tax reporting as it relates to quarterly 941 reporting
  • Compiling payroll data and statistics necessary for reporting will strong analytical skill set
  • Prepares and creates payroll reports and GL journal entries, as needed
  • Provide advanced analytical/problem solving skills and have the ability to work through root cause analysis or payroll problem or system issues
  • Participation in year-end activities, reconcile and distribute W-2 forms, fringe benefits, relocation, W-2c preparation


Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Minimum of 7-10 years of payroll related work experience
  • Strong computer skills when using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated payroll system, Microsoft Office, proficiency in Microsoft Excel required (must know tables, formulas, VLOOKUP and pivot tables)
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in Payroll & Time and Attendance systems
  • Recent Oracle Fusion HCM experience highly preferred (within the last 3 yrs.), but would consider someone who was really sharp and had experience with ADP or PeopleSoft platforms dated in the mid 2000's to around 2014 as it is most similar to the Oracle Platform.
  • Kronos Work Force Central or Dimensions experience highly preferred
  • Ability to foster relationships while being flexible and able to switch focus as needed
  • Professional demeanor with strong customer services skills and the ability to communicate with employees at all levels
  • Strong organizational skills with good judgment and problem solving skills
  • Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously both independently and as a part of a team
  • Must be able to prioritize and manage time effectively while working under pressure to meet strict deadlines
