 Position Summary:


Quality Technician performs quality control inspections, checks, and tests during the manufacture of products in the production area. This position will be responsible for the inspection of materials, parts and products at different stages of production. This position will also communicate the quality systems to other employees as needed and records observations and may make recommendations for improving processes.

3.0 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 Follows all Safety and Quality procedures and observes the operations to insure a safe environment.

 Responsible for ensuring the compliance of “Food Product Safety” & “Product Quality” of the product, to meet the expectation of our customers.

 Knows common practices associated with the proper handling of food grade products per GMP requirements.

 Performs daily quality control inspections, checks, functional tests, documents and disseminates results.

 Review production schedule and create batch documentation and labels.

 Review and approve completed documentation including “Positive Release”

 Complete “First Good Article” approval in timely manner

 Verifies “Line Clearance” activities

 Escalate issues to appropriate personnel

 Work with plant personnel to assist in measurements.

 As needed, perform Gage R&R’s and Qualification studies.

 Interact with production personnel to ensure quality checks, packaging, documentation requirements and the quality system is clearly understood.

 Effectively perform Event Based Investigations (EBI) and Hold for Inspection (HFI).

 Provide detailed daily quality download.

 Write, train and follow procedures.

 Maintain the work area in an organized and professional manner.

 Performs other related duties as assigned.

 Understands and follows Hazard Materials Regulations 49 CFR Part 172.700 Subpart H.

  Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.


Job Requirements

Education and /or Experiences

 Quality background in measurement techniques and analysis preferred.

 High School Diploma or GED. At least 2-4 years experience in a manufacturing environment.


5.0 Skills:

5.1 Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondences to both internal and external contacts. Ability to speak effectively with coworkers of all departments within the organization.

5.2 Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply concepts of basic math. Ability to use Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook.


5.3 Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.


6.0 Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
