Basic Function:

The multi-craft technician will be responsible for all production maintenance, including product quality control, line maintenance, and repair of line machinery and equipment. They are also responsible for performing a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, programming, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electrical equipment and components. This role involves applying mechanical and electricalexpertise in determining work methods and procedures for producing quality product. Responsibilities:

  • Follow all safety policies including use of PPE, Lock Out Tag Out program, 5S standards, etc.
  • Examine machine controls during changeovers and start up machines for production based on Production Schedule.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance checks on all production equipment and machinery
  • Repair basic mechanical components and replace parts on machines such as bearings, filters, valves and gauges
  • Observe and listen to mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of problem
  • Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts
  • Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements
  • Lubricate and clean machinery and support equipment to maintain housekeeping and preventive maintenance standards within the plant
  • Document and track changeover times
  • Document and track reasons for down time, Operating Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and other KPIs
  • Generate and accomplish work orders to maintain safety; reduce downtime; decrease scrap; improve quality production; and improve plant efficiency
  • Train, observe and coach other employees including operators, mechanics and temporary employees
  • Complete Root Cause Analyses for excessive downtime
  • Must be capable of understanding and repairing electrical equipment such as:       Control Logic, Allen Bradley SLC 500, Seimens, Vision Systems, etc.
  • Repair of motor overload and current protection including fuses and breakers.
  • Ability to work on 24VDC systems and a working knowledge of 120, 220/240- and 480-volt power distribution installation, maintenance and repair.
  • Must be able to communicate professionally and clearly with co-workers and management.

 

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a maintenance or electrical related position within a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Ability to interpret documents such as procedure manuals, blue prints, schematics, charts, diagrams, etc.
  • Strong understanding of systems, equipment and schematics
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Basic mathematical skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and calculate fractions
  • Ability to perform work in a mature and professional manner, demonstrate personal responsibility, and perform all assigned duties
