Position Summary:

Performs a variety of mechanical trade functions such as the disassemble, repair, rebuild, and troubleshoot press equipment and components.   Reviews manufacturer manuals and schematics as well as blue prints and drawings to understand the operation and rebuild of press equipment.  The York Refurbishment Center is an operation designed to rebuild stamping press equipment serving the Metals Segment of MPS Small Packaging.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Under minimal supervision, perform mechanical troubleshooting and repair of complex problems with stamping equipment used in the manufacturing process
  • Dismantle, adjust, repair, perform preventive maintenance and assemble equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches and drawings Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
  • Conform with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment.
  • Must be accountable to adhere to all safety policies around PPE, equipment repair, safe machine operation and a safe work environment.
  • Must demonstrate lockout tagout knowledge when servicing equipment.
  • Must be capable of understanding and repairing mechanical equipment.
  • Must be able to perform specific measurements and follow machine rebuild qualification process and control plans.
  • Must understand the key characteristics of products produced and maintain quality throughout the process.
  • Participate in problem solving meetings to review issues, identify, and implement root cause corrective action.
  • Must be able to complete equipment changeovers.
  • Complete SPC and process documentation
  • Create and follow standard work instructions.
  • Ability to sustain the process at budgeted unit frequency, proactively address issues as they arise.
  • Provide peer to peer leadership to others in the York Refurbishment Center.
  • Must be able to communicate professionally, respectfully and clearly with co-workers and management.
  • Must be able to successfully complete forklift certification training.
  • Develop maintenance materials on specific areas of expertise
  • Must be able to communicate professionally and clearly with co-workers and management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Technical College student (Engineering/Electrical preferred)
  • Experience with Microsoft office (Excel, Word, etc.)
