Job Description

 

The Production Control & Logistics Manager is responsible for ensuring operating policies and procedures for managing all phases of customer service, production scheduling/control and inventory control by applying lean methodologies. Manages improvements through the use of SAP. Manages warehouse functions, including shipping/receiving and transportation functions including outside carriers.

 Responsibilities:

  • Ensure customer satisfaction: implement material and information flow processes that anticipate customer requirements and maintain good relationships.
  • Support the launch of new programs / products.
  • Ensure adequate staffing, training, and development of team members.
  • Monitor logistics processes.
  • Monitor PC&L performance and implement necessary improvement actions in coordination with other functions (Quality and Operations).
  • Optimize inventory levels, minimize excess and obsolete inventory, and drive 100% on time delivery to the customer as well as internally.
  • Work closely with the SAP team and be the interface between SAP and operations.
  • Work closely with the finance team to develop inventory policies and forecasts.
  • Monitors raw material consumption and develops plans to maintain production needs.
  • As a manager, assures all plant safety/accident prevention policies are adhered to.
  • Manages customer service, order entry and delivery.
  • Handles periodic physical inventory of raw materials and finished goods and reconciles actual usage as shown on SAP system.
  • Generates inventory reports to Division as necessary.

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in business management, engineering or combined experience may be considered. MBA (Preferred).
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ operations experience in a high volume manufacturing environment with experience in the use of lean principles.
  • Proficient SAP, CDM and Microsoft Office experience.
  • Ability to work cross functionally both internally and externally with customers.
  • Strong customer service experience.
  • Ability to quickly analyze problems and provide viable solutions using proven lean methodology.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and be willing to work in a team oriented environment.
