BWAY Corporation has opening for a Continuous Improvement Manager to perform the following duties: Responsible for the successful identification, development, and execution of projects to drive improvement in process metrics and targeted financial benefits; Identify manufacturing needs, define scope, and measure and report progress on all projects; Leading and facilitating improvement teams across the plant – often multiple teams at one time; Successfully develop and execute specific OPEX/Lean Manufacturing projects, including internal and external Kanban, TPM, SMED, one-piece flow production, constraint management, and workplace organization; Develop, identify, train, and lead Kaizen project teams; Utilize lean processes including OEE, TPM, SMED, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Continuous Flow, JIT, Kanban; Ensure systematic and thorough documentation of all projects to share ideas across the network and collaborate with finance to establish project values; Perform project management leadership administration including project direction, implementation, cost/benefit analysis, scheduling and resource allocation; Monitor all communications related to projects (including the development of format, frequency, material and audience); Define projects for customer requirements utilizing tools including Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), process flow mapping, control plan documentation and Capability Analysis; Review, measure, and proactively study KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to prevent substandard products that do not meet customer specifications; Collaborate with Quality and Operations team to develop solutions to customer complaints; Establish and maintain monthly progress reviews in accordance with site leadership requirements; Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures; Work cross functionally across all departments to attain improvement objectives; Collaborate with the CI Managers/Coordinators from other sites as well as the corporate headquarters to share best practices across sites; Develop processes and systems to ensure sustainability of improvements; Utilize Kaizen for project justification; Track and report team progress and assist team in utilizing metrics; Develop future state value streams and assist teams in prioritizing tasks.

 

Minimum Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, or related field, plus 5 years of experience in Metal Component Industry and Six Sigma Black Belt application, and demonstrated experience in MS Office Suite: Excel, PowerPoint and Word; Process flow mapping software: Visio or Lucidchart; 5S, Poka Yoke, DMAIC, Root Cause Analysis, 5why; Green Belt Six Sigma trainer; Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA); Lead project teams from defining project scope, to implementation and evaluation for improvement; MiniTab Data Analysis Software; 7 Waste (Waste reduction methodology); SWOT analysis; CAD (Computer Aided Design) and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing); Quality Planning and problem solving tools; Statistical Process Control & Quality Control Plans; Warranty Reduction, Throughput Improvement and Scrap reduction.

 

Job Location:        Chicago, IL

Salary Range:      $123,600 per year

Work Schedule:    40 hours per week/8am-5pm/Monday-Friday
