The technician is part of the maintenance team.  This position will report directly to the maintenance manager. They are responsible for maintenance and improvements of all areas of the plant including facilities, direct manufacturing equipment and peripheral equipment.


Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Know, understand, and be accountable for performance metrics:  Safety, Quality, and Productivity.
  • Adhere to all safety policies including: Personal Protective Equipment, equipment repair, safe machine operation, Lockout Tag Out procedures while maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Diagnose problems on all equipment, make necessary corrective adjustments and repairs, and keep Manufacturing Supervisor and Maintenance Manager advised of related problems.
  • Identify and implement improvements to manufacturing and support processes to create cost reductions and improve operational performance.
  • Understand the key characteristics of the products produced, their fabrication and the tooling, and materials used to make the product.
  • Solicit observations from operators, study product requirements, and design, modify and test manufacturing methods and equipment.
  • Validate implemented manufacturing process improvements to ensure desired results and sustainability.
  • Investigate operational problems affecting production.
  • Support organization, planning and commissioning of new or modified production lines.
  • Support repairs and provide Preventative Maintenance of all equipment on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Ability to accurately track and document repairs, PM tools used and parts usage.
  • Install and wire industrial automation line controls and integrate with existing network, as directed/assisted by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Perform repairs on electrical or electronic instruments as directed/assisted by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Troubleshoot electrical control and distribution systems to include 12/24vdc, 120vac, 277vac and 480vac • PLC troubleshooting knowledge; programming ability is a plus.
  • Assist with equipment or automation installation work as needed.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices (5S/6S).

Perform other related tasks as assigned by Management.

Job Requirements


  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English
  • Thorough understanding of quality standards and defects, line production procedures, starting and stopping equipment, clearing minor jams, operation of equipment, and conveying systems.
  • General trouble-shooting capabilities.
  • Mechanical and analytical thought process.
  • Understanding of computer operations.
  • Excellent multitasking, prioritizing, and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivating and self-starting.
  • Aptitude in the use of commonly known tools and measuring devices required for the job.
  • Basic mathematical skills used to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and use decimals and fractions.
  • Ability to perform work in a mature and professional manner, demonstrate personal responsibility, and perform all assigned duties independently.
  • Availability to work any and all shifts and available to work overtime including weekends.
  • Capability to maintain excellent attendance.


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Formal technical training preferred
  • 15+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • 10+ years of experience working in an industrial maintenance roll
  • Preference given to those with tool and die experience
  • Fabricating and welding experience preferred

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is expected to work within the plant for the majority of their shift.  The noise level in the work environment is usually high, so ear protection is mandatory while on the plant floor.  Inside conditions accompany extremes of heat/cold (seasonal), exposure to humidity, working in tight areas, and some exposure to outside weather elements such as oil and dirt.
