Position Summary:

Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for the receipt, verification, labeling, storage and documentation of all parts and supplies, executing shop administrative tasks, and organizing day to day functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receives shipments from vendors, checking vendor packing slips/invoices for accuracy and insuring quantities received are as stated; maintains appropriate records
  • Directly issues parts received to open work orders or places parts in proper location within the parts room
  • Enters receipt and distribution of parts/supplies into computer to update automated inventory records Hippo and SAP
  • Utilizes internet and other resources in order to locate and place orders for parts
  • Coordinate transportation /vendor pickup to local machine shops, parts supply stores, etc. if necessary self-delivery/pick-up
  • Conducts periodic physical inventory to assure proper availability of required stock; replenishes stopcock as shipments arrive.
  • File requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools or other sock items
  • Responsible for carrying out work assignments in an efficient manner to maximize productivity
  • Response for following plant safety procedures, guidelines, and rules as job functions are performed and reporting any unsafe condition
  • Maintains a clean work area
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested
  • Vendor Management systems create and maintain
  • Predictive maintenance management spare parts, usage, critical spares
  • Data compilations- down time analysis, scrap, etc.
  • Manage parts room – min/ max
  • Manage rebuild program internal and external


Job Requirements


Knowledge and skill to perform intermediate Excel functions, Word, and Power points 

Education and/ or Experience:

High school education or G.E.D. and 1 year related experience preferably in a manufacturing setting.

Language Skills

Must be able to read, write and communicate in English. Spanish is a plus but not required.
