Basic Function: The production line mechanic will be responsible for all production maintenance, including product quality control, line maintenance, and repair of line machinery and equipment. This role involves applying mechanical expertise in determining work methods and procedures for producing quality product. Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for safety inspection and maintenance of plant equipment
  • Resolve al mechanical problems as they arise
  • Install and maintain pipe systems, valves, conveyor systems, fans, blowers, compressors and pumps
  • Keep track of maintenance records and conduct prrograms for preventative maintenance
  • Maintain plant operation, ensure equipment safety and environmental regulations
  • Install and calibrate industrial instrumentation

 

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance preferred;
  • This is primarily an afternoon shift position but will require rotation when needed
  • Mechanical diploma or certificate. Equivalent experience will be considered
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills in electrical, and mechanical systems for production machinery and support equipment
  • Able to demonstrate a strong mechanical aptitude
  • General knowledge of blueprint reading for equipment
  • Able to troubleshoot hydraulics, pneumatic and minor electrical issues 
  • Skilled in root cause analysis and trouble techniques of equipment problems
  • Experience using various welding equipment required 
  • Working knowledge of lathe, milling machine, grinder and hand tools
  • Able to work in a team environment under minimal supervision 
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence
  • Ability to understand and implement safe work/operating procedures (as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures noted for individual job description)
  • Good interpersonal skills and a customer service orientation;
  • WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) training an asset
