Position Summary:

The Inventory Accounting Specialist works with the Plant Operations team on coordinating, documenting and reporting the activity and strategic objectives relating to the efficient and accurate accounting for Raw Materials, WIP, and Finished Goods Inventory

Responsibilities:

• Review, investigate and correct errors and inconsistencies in inventory accounting transactions to ensure proper accounting transactions with the general ledger to help Maintain and optimize real time data in material inventory management system.
• Coordinate weekly cycle counts and analyze inventory variances prior to making adjustments Lead the physical inventory counts conducted twice a year
• Assists with overall inventory control, to maximize available space and ensure JIT and FIFO shipping receiving practice. Helps coordinate all incoming production material schedules.
• Analyze excess and obsolete inventory and work with appropriate personnel to manage waste

• Prepare relevant Inventory KPI schedules for daily, weekly and monthly review

• Perform month end close journal entries according to schedule
• Manage monthly balance sheet reconciliations according to schedule
• Assist in the preparation of the annual operating budget
• Prepare records, documents and reports tracking and projecting critical data related to materials.
• Responsible for processing all incoming product to identify damage, weight, count or paperwork issues. Must ensure that incoming product is properly identified and labeled at all times and put in the proper staging or storage area.
• Performs other duties and special projects as required.
