Job Description

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Provides coaching, leadership and support to managers and employees regarding Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, questions and concerns.
  • Leads and manages all employment practices which include recruitment, orientation, professional development of employees, promotions, transfers, terminations and temporary agency utilization.
  • Acts as a mediator with regards to employee relations concerns, participates in employee disciplinary and/or counseling issues, and handles human resources legal issues as required.
  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable federal and state human resource requirements, conducts investigations, maintains records and represents the organization at hearings.
  • Manages performance review process and ensures employee training is inclusive of any competency-based development plans.
  • Administers all employee benefit and payroll programs and coordinates with corporate as necessary.
  • Successfully establishes and maintains professional relationships and works effectively with all levels of management and employees.
  • Administers and manages union contracts (if applicable to site), works with Business Agent(s) as necessary, responds to grievances and participates in contract negotiations.
  • Responsible for managing all safety related documentation, accident reporting, OSHA documentation/record-keeping and actively participates and leads plant safety programs. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource related field, M.S. degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • PHR/SPHR certification a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities partnering with business leaders in a fast-paced, changing operations environment.
  • Knowledge of HR labor and employment law, along with the ability to interpret, apply and articulate knowledge in support of business initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to employ strong conflict resolution skills as well as influence, negotiate and effectively coach on all levels.
  • Good organizational, planning and follow up skills.
  • Prior experience in union or non-union environments may be required (dependent on location).
