Basic Function:

Mauser Packaging Solutions has an immediate need for an HR Apprentice to work full-time (36-40hrs) out of our corporate headquarters in Oak Brook, IL. The ideal candidate will be finishing their undergrad or graduate degree or recently completed in the last 6 months looking for an opportunity to start their career in HR (must be available 5 days/week with some scheduling flexibility).

The HR Apprentice will spend the first year supporting the HR team in the corporate office and then transition to one of our manufacturing plants across the US. Candidate must be willing to relocate.

*This is a paid internship position

Responsibilities:

  • Assists HR department in carrying out various administrative and project based tasks
  • Supports on-boarding and orientation efforts including paperwork preparation, collection and submission of new hire information, and necessary follow up 
  • Primary contact in maintaining applicant tracking system (ATS), adding users and running reports
  • Audits HRIS system records and compiles reports from the database as needed
  • Administrative assistance with special projects and initiatives in support of the team is expected
  • Codes and routes invoices
  • Conducts new employee orientations and administers pre-employment forms
  • Responsible for on-boarding schedules for corporate new hires and other new employees
  • Assists in the exit interview process
  • Assists in organizational training and development efforts
  • Performs additional HR administrative duties

 

Job Requirements

  • Must have completed (or completing) a Bachelor’s degree to be considered; preferably in Human Resources or related field
  • Effectively communicate and interact at all levels in the organization, including senior leadership
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrate teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant working environment
  • Must be comfortable with ambiguity and independent decision-making
  • Solid writing and verbal communication skills in addition to analytical and time management skills required
  • Possess superior attention to detail and deliver quality work 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required
  • Must be willing to relocate for future opportunities
