The Environmental Health & Safety Manager will perform functions to manage all aspects of the safety & environmental programs for the Seattle, Washington; Roseville, CA and potentially 2 additional add on facilities in the Western US, including but not limited to development, implementation, compliance, training and reporting. Provide direction to management on safety and health requirements and regulations. Lead the local safety and environmental programs and ensure that all programs are current. This role will be based in a manufacturing environment. This role will report to the Vice President of Environmental, Health and Safety.


  • Develop and compose safe work procedures and complete job hazard assessments.
  • Deliver safety training Hazard Communication, new employee orientation, Lock Out Tag Out, Confined Space and other training as assigned.
  • Develop and present additional safety and environmental training as required.
  • Assist Facility Manager leading toolbox safety talks daily.
  • Ensure compliance with Covid-19 Safety policies and procedures.
  • Lead all plant environmental, health and safety compliance and management system functions and activities; specifically, the implementation of Behavior Based Safety Program to improve overall EHS performance.
  • Responsible for partnering with the Facility Manager and the Safety Committee to develop methods for keeping Safety Fresh and focused on employee engagement.
  • Provide direction to plant on all EHS issues and regulatory concern by reviewing and updating written safety and health programs.
  • Develop and implement EHS strategies to ensure compliance with various operating permits and regulatory compliance including ownership for leading all environmental reporting aspects of the plant.
  • Conduct regular, daily plant walk-throughs for safety and environmental concerns.
  • Discipline employees for failing to follow safe work practices in accordance with Mauser policies.
  • Participate in the engineering design of protective equipment or safety devices for machines during start up or new installation by applying psychological and physiological factors to assist in the design of safety features and controls.
  • Responsible for audits development to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate required OSHA training, lead and train employees in safe work procedures, risk assessments and other safety training and communication.
  • Review and assist with developing corrective actions in response to OSHA recordable, first aid and near miss incidents at assigned locations.
  • Interface with federal, state and local environmental and safety agencies on plant issues
  • Maintain compliance with Clean Air Act Title V permit record-keeping and reporting requirements for 2- 3 locations including the completion of various regulatory reports, as required.


Job Requirements


  • 5+ years providing environmental and safety functional oversight in a fast pace manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or related field preferred or equivalent related experience.
  • Certifications in Environmental or Health & Safety related programs preferred;
  • Experience administering safety training in accordance with OSHA regulations;
  • Experience in OSHA record-keeping related to various programs including Lock out Tag Out, Confined Space, Hazard Communication, Injury Reporting and other related programs;
  • Superior communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, along with the ability to work with all levels of the organization;
  • Self starter, able to work in a self-directed capacity.
  • Ability to solve complex problems by: actively seeking information and new ideas from a variety of sources; systematic and objective evaluation of information consistently looking for novel ways to solve problems; and mastering unfamiliar information, tasks and situations quickly and effectively;
  • Strong training and coaching skills; ability to direct and persuade others throughout the organization.
  • Effective attention to detail with a calm and steady demeanor and a high degree of accuracy under pressure;
  • Intermediate computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office Suite of Products, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Teams and Outlook;
  • Able to work on site 5 days, socially distanced wearing a face covering;
  • Ability to travel up to 30%.


  • Familiarity with EHS Insight or similar safety and environmental data management tools.
  • RCRA Hazardous waste management and CAA air permit management experience;
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus;
  • Good working knowledge of managing the risk associated with industrial chemical handling/use;
  • Experience in manufacturing/reconditioning environment preferred.
