Position Summary:

Plans, organizes and directs plant engineering activities to meet company objectives. Reviews all manufacturing processes to insure maximum efficiency and use of technology in manufacturing processes.  ***Knowledge of plastic blow molding is required.  Project Management experience is required.


  1. Provides direction on design and development activities to improve, modify or design new equipment and processes.
  2. Oversees key projects, processes and performance reports, data and analysis.
  3. Selects correct design concept and fundamental technology for new processes or improvement of existing ones.
  4. Forecasts engineering operating costs and directs preparation of budget requests.
  5. Analyzes technology trends, human resource needs and market demand to plan projects.
  6. Interacts with customers on product launches and supports sales on technical issues.
  7. Establish and monitor the plant tooling control and change control system while adhering to designs, specifications, and standards established by group engineering.
  8. Estimates and prepares budgets and AFEs for plant projects, and is responsible for authorization for expenditures.
  9. Supervise outside contractors.
  10. Confers with vendors to determine product specification and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials or parts.  
  11. Manages and coordinates activities of mechanical engineering section to design and develop tools, machines, engines, controls, equipment and mechanical processes.
  12. Ensures proper documentation.

Job Requirements


Must have extensive experience with plastic blow molding. Bachelor's degree in mechanical, plastics, or chemical engineering with seven years experience in various engineering areas with progressive managerial responsibility. PMP preferred but not required.  Must be knowledgeable of lean manufacturing, and principles of statistical data analysis. Requirements include proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, CAD and SAP. 

This position requires up to 75% travel and the ability to effectively communicate.
