Position Summary:

The Director of Process Engineering & Maintenance will lead the development and implementation of the overall Maintenance OpEx program for the Metals segment of the business. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations for Metals, this position will collaborate with the plants and business leaders to continuously improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the maintenance function to increase machine reliability and reduce downtime at each facility.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement OpEx activities, techniques and methodologies to drive continuous improvement within the maintenance function
  • Develop a TPM strategy that will be the standard model for all Metals Plants
  • Implement a TPM audit program that helps drive compliance and standardization
  • Serve as a change agent for maintenance reliability initiatives by driving cultural transformation and adoption of continuous improvement practices
  • Provide leadership direction and oversight for preventative maintenance systems
  • Establish road map, work standards and best practices to eliminate operational waste
  • Ensure compliance with maintenance systems, processes and procedures across all plants
  • Establish and manage key metrics to ensure maintenance programs are being adequately executed
  • Optimize reporting tools and methodologies for operational KPI’s
  • Ensures effective and timely communications between the sites for sharing of best practices and key’s learnings
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; MS or MBA preferred
  • 15+ years of experience in manufacturing maintenance
  • Exceptional leadership, change management and communication skills
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Experience working with Preventative Maintenance systems
  • Experience working in a TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) or Operational Excellence Environment
  • Hands-on experience applying lean manufacturing concepts; Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 60% domestic is required
