Position Summary:

The Account Manager actively seeks to increase sales volume and margin by providing exceptional service to existing customer accounts in the highly competitive packaging industry.   Continuously searches for and delivers new strategic accounts to further grow sales, margin and revenue.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Manages accounts within West Coast territory to include all planning and execution of activity for growth in revenue, margin and customer retention
  • Sets and communicates territory strategy on regular base aligning to business goals
  • Develops and manages all levels of the customer organization
  • Acts as a consultant and a value-added resource to the customer
  • Coordinates communication between customer, supply chain, operations and management
  • Understands competitor’s products and capabilities, and how that relates to company’s products
  • Reports out on and maintains all other necessary information within Salesforce
  • Actively monitors territory performance metrics regarding wins, revenue, and margin goals
  • Attends sales meetings to review territory performance and receive company/product training
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

•Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience; MBA preferred 
•5 plus years of experience in sales; manufacturing environment preferred  
•Experience with large territories a plus
•Microsoft Office proficiency
•Proven ability to develop and implement territory strategies 
•Successful negotiation and implementation of supply agreements 
•Strong leadership, presentation and interpersonal skills
•Comprehensive understanding of financial business and data analysis 
•Self-motivated in fast paced changing environment
•Works from home office with moderate to extensive overnight travel
