The Supply Chain Planner has a key role in the Sales, Inventory, Orders/Tracking and Operations Planning process. The position is responsible for participating in the consensus forecast process and driving customer satisfaction through planning, tracking and customer facing resolution.

Work closely with the Commercial Sales team
to forecast the product needs while working with operations and supply chain to assure customer commitment. The position will support the collaborative process with and between Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, Planning, Procurement and Customer Service.


  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Finance, Planning and the SI&OP Director for the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning process that would have immediate impact on our customer base and focused heavily on key accounts such as Sherwin Williams
  • Provide constructive feedback in the Demand and Consensus meetings
  • Participate in the Company’s Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) Process
  • Provide planning support to the Commercial VP as well as Sherwin Williams Key Account Manager
  • Work with key stakeholders to maintain optimal inventory levels and take a proactive approach to understand issues and concerns for customers while reducing excess inventory
  • Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for the demand forecast
  • Generate reporting for commercial/customer use
  • Work closely with commercial sales to set up new inventory items in the system and determine initial requirements
  • Identify any risk to the business plan to appropriate stakeholders outlining recommended course of action and resulting financial impact
  • Review and report ad hoc analysis as needed to understand what is driving demand shifts
  • Drive problem solving initiatives between Sales, Operations and our customers


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance (business planning/forecasting) or mathematics preferred. Engineer or Master Degree is a plus
  • 5-7 years’ experience in demand planning/forecasting, supply planning, inventory management or related field required. Customer Service Experience a plus
  • Hands-on experience with modeling, analysis and simulation tools required
  • Strong analytical, financial and decision making skills with an eye for detail and the ability to problem solve
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally and achieve business results through collaboration
  • Capable of resolving escalated issues
  • Knowledge and previous work experience with high end ERP systems required, SAP and tableau experience is a plus
  • Industrial and/or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry experience is preferred with manufacturing experience a plus
  • Must demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills. Presentation and facilitation experience at all levels of the organization
  • Results oriented, self-motivated with a high sense of urgency and personal accountability
  • Demand Planning certification with IBF, APIC’s, CDPF or other industry certification is a plus
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (build charts/graphs, pivot table, sorting/filtering data, formulas, identifying trends/patterns in data)
