Position Summary:

The Strategic Account Manager actively seeks to increase sales volume and margin by providing exceptional service to existing customer accounts in the highly competitive packaging industry.   Continuously searches for and delivers new strategic accounts to further grow sales, margin and revenue.  The position includes up to 85% travel, so living proximity close to major airport is ideal.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Manages strategic accounts from planning, implementation to customer acceptance.
  • Proactively manages territory to increase sales volume and customer retention.
  • Creates territory plans, pricing and understands business decisions impact on Mauser and marketplace.
  • Develops and manages executive level relationships both internal and external to the organization.
  • Understands competitor’s products, processes and capabilities, people and manufacturing strategies and strengths; Leverages this knowledge to benefit Mauser.
  • Acts as a consultant and a value-added resource for the customer.   
  • Is a role model by demonstrating professional integrity at all times as a representative of Mauser from a legal and ethical standpoint.
  • Meets with customers to build and maintain positive relationships on a regular basis and provides product, pricing and service information.
  • Leads the team in achieving overall sales goals by working with   customer service and operational staff to resolve customers’ issues or concerns.
  • Prepares and communicates weekly calendar; Reports any other necessary information via phone, e-mail or database updates.
  • Reviews own performance metrics to ensure achievement of monthly sales, revenue and margin goals.
  • Attends Sales meetings and Trade Shows to keep current on latest trends and developments in the industry.



Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 plus years of experience in sales; manufacturing environment preferred  
  • Experience with large territories a plus
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Proven ability to develop and implement territory strategies
  • Successful negotiation and implementation of supply agreements
  • Strong leadership, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial business and data analysis
  • Self-motivated in fast paced changing environment
  • Works from home office with moderate to extensive overnight travel
