Position Summary:  The Regional SHEQ Manager – IBC Division is a proactive leader who works under the guidance of Mauser Packaging Solutions corporate policies and procedures. They adhere to all plant safety and health procedures/policies, environmental duties, and customer quality standards. The Regional SHEQ Manager’s strategic focus is to work with the plant operations team to continuously improve the quality of the product, the safety and health of the employees and environmental aspects of the facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Uphold and enforce the adherence to the Company’s Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality policies.
  • Develop, review, and train on Divisional level policies and mandates.
  • Trigger, track and keep the records of safety, health, and quality training for all employees.
  • Oversee and ensure all internal safety and quality audit programs are adhered to.
  • Participate in and lead 8D and Quality Improvement Teams to support root cause analysis, track actions and verify effectiveness.
  • Consult on occupational health, safety, and accident prevention issues with the health and safety committee and corporate safety leadership.
  • Explain, implement and monitor the applicable regulations governing the transportation of dangerous goods (DOT).
  • Prepare for and serve as regional management representative for external audits, customer surveys and customer site audits.
  • Communicates and investigates any customer inquiries as they relate back to quality. Works with Operations team to find solutions to customer complaints focusing on permanent corrective action.  Visits customers as needed.
  • Maintain Salesforce entries as applicable
  • Establishes programs to improve metrics using continuous improvement tools as well as actively participates in projects that support Lean Manufacturing initiatives resulting in improved profitability, workflow and team performance. Proactively works to improve quality systems internally and externally to the plant.
  • Reviews, measures and proactively studies KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) in an effort to prevent substandard product that does not meet customer specifications.
  • Audits, summarizes and reviews with plant management team the plant quality system.
  • Derive and implement corrective occupational health and safety actions (from the risk assessments).
  • Consult on occupational health, safety, and accident prevention issues with the health and safety committee.
  • Develop and maintain PFMEA & Control Plan
  • Travels as necessary to other plants to establish best practices or to work with others in determining root cause or corrective action to quality issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of an associate degree and  5 years managerial role in quality.  Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of quality and safety experience in a high-volume manufacturing operation.
  • Must have experience being involved with and/or leading EHS related items or projects.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision, self-starter.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Able to communicate and work with others and be assertive as required.
  • OSHA30 certification a plus.
  • Strong problem solver with good work ethic and decision-making skills.
  • Strong computer skills – specifically Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to travel 25-40% of the time

Physical Requirement:

  • Ability to lift 35 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, crouch and climb to perform duties
  • While performing the duties of this job, the individual is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
  • The work environment can be very hot, over 90 degrees
