Real Estate Manager, North America

The role will be based in Atlanta, GA or Chicago, IL and will include travel throughout North America.

Summary: Reporting to the VP of Operations, this role is responsible for the management of Mauser’s North America real estate portfolio (over 100 facilities, mostly leased) and company lead on all real estate matters. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a high-volume deal flow of large, complex real estate transactions with the ability to negotiate and execute facility lease renewals, expansions, consolidations, relocations, dispositions, subleases, tenant improvement projects, and office building leases.
  • Partner with multiple business units to develop short- and long-term strategic plans.
  • Ability to develop and present financial business cases to support real estate plans.
  • Create and implement a relevant system of metrics to plan, manage, measure, and evaluate performance pertaining to the transaction process.
  • Manage an ever-changing variety of internal initiatives and projects.
  • Identify areas real estate risks and develop strategic action plan to mitigate out of pocket costs.
  • Closely support and collaborate with Mauser operations, legal, finance, and treasury groups to deliver highly successful projects.
  • Effectively communicate expectations, requirements, and status of deals to key business partners – both internal and external.
  • Partner with third party brokerage and counsel on real estate transactions.

 

Requirements:

The right candidate will demonstrate a successful track record in performing a full range of real estate functions and leading internal and outsourced teams in an extremely fast-paced environment with a high degree of ambiguity.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Finance, Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • 5+ years’ experience in deal management in an industrial real estate operation with a national footprint leveraging a combination of internal and external resources.
    • Additional experience in deal management in an industrial real estate operation with a national footprint leveraging a combination of internal and external resources preferred
  • Experience building a network of consultants, developers, contractors, and attorneys as resources.
  • Experience developing and implementing process improvements to streamline portfolio management.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills: ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make sound recommendations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong work ethic, ability to effectively manage high‐volume workload.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organization, and time management skills.
  • Skilled in PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Strong sense of teamwork and willingness to support group objectives.
  • Proven ability to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Must be willing and able to travel throughout North America up to 10% of the time.
