The Finance Manager, Cost Accounting & Inventory will be a key financial and cost accounting resource to the Small Packaging Metals business. This role will be responsible for the valuing, forecasting, tracking, and reporting on the inventory positions and movements – both from a P&L and Balance Sheet standpoint. This is a very cross-functional position which will need to work closely with the Metals Finance and Operations Teams; Corporate Procurement and Logistics; SI&OP; and Small Packaging Accounting teams with impact to drive targeted results. This position will own and be responsible for a value stream resulting from the identification and management of targeted inventory management imperatives and goals as well as a number of other related initiatives and responsibilities.


As a Finance Manager at Mauser, your primary responsibilities include:

  • Detailed tracking of Metals raw material, WIP, and Finished Goods inventory and the financial impact to the P&L as well as Balance Sheet. This will involve forward-looking forecasts, modeling to desired outcomes, and working cross-functionally to operationalize detailed-level inventory management.
  • Build and maintain highly granular models for forecasting and tracking results as well as high-level overviews and summaries for presentation and discussion with Sr. Management
  • Highly pro-active and cross-functional interaction to drive targeted results.
  • Support related ad hoc activities without losing focus on core deliverables

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; MBA or other applicable Masters-level degree preferred
  • 5+ years of work experience with significant, demonstrable experience in inventory planning and accounting,
  • Must be very familiar and proficient in US GAAP cost accounting principles related to inventory, PPV, and capitalization of variances in a Standard Costing environment as well as other acceptable practices (Actual or Average Costing, LIFO/FIFO, etc.)
  • Relevant experience should be centered around a high-volume manufacturing environment as well as experience with outsourced / imported materials and components.
  • SAP Manufacturing and Finance experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced-level Excel skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task efficiently and take ownership with projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a desire to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines and complete time-sensitive duties.
  • Outgoing and assertive in seeking out information and inputs as well as collaborating / influencing cross-functionally across the organization.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrable ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
