Basic Function:

The production line mechanic will be responsible for all production maintenance, including product quality control, line maintenance, and repair of line machinery and equipment. This role involves applying mechanical expertise in determining work methods and procedures for producing quality product. Responsibilities

  • Preventive and Service Maintenance on all Equipment
  • Optimize Run Time / Minimize Downtimes
  • Maintain a clean, efficient, safe and healthy work environment with adherence to health and safety policies and regulations
  • Respond to production problems on the floor. Troubleshoot and adjust equipment as required.
  • Attend to problems with support equipment where capable
  • All other responsibilities and duties, as assigned
  • Ensure safe work practices, and good manufacturing practices, are being followed

 

Experience Requirements

  • Entry level to 5 years or applicable educational background

Job Requirements

  • Hands on maintenance skills in electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to read and troubleshoot from schematics
  • Must possess mechanical aptitude and appropriate experience.  Injection molding related experience preferred
  • Knowledge of 400–1000-ton Injection Molding Machines: Cincinnati, Huskys/Engels/Mitsubishi
  • Practical hands-on experience in all aspects of equipment repair, including hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, electronic, and electrical
  • Knowledge of CMMS (computer maintenance software)
  • Must be qualified forklift operator
  • Requires good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a cooperative environment
  • Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and good manufacturing practices
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Certificates or licenses appropriate to manufacturing industry
