Summary

Responsible for the operation, maintenance and process management of high volume injection equipment with minimal supervision of injection employees. Must be able to process and troubleshoot both injection pail machines as well as injection cover machines efficiently.  Must be able to perform as a key member in a focused team environment.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate, repair, and maintenance of high volume injection equipment and the supervision of injection employees
• Provide support to Set-up Technicians, training and assisting
• Operate forklift to safely transport regrind boxes and molds
• Complete paperwork as required
• Responsible for setting up and adjusting auxiliary equipment including Heat transfer, Hot stamp, Inkjets, leak testers, handle installers, & Martins.
• Input down time reason codes and times in Shoplogix report
• Conduct minor repairs and change inserts/plates

• Assure compliance of all subordinates (Relief/Machine Operator, Material Handler) with safety rules and regulations within the assigned cell in an effort to reduce occurrence of accidents and loss time in the work place.
• Promote, attain, and maintain safety, quality, and environmental awareness and requirements in the area of responsibility.
• Maintain acceptable level of housekeeping by 5S standards in the assigned work area. Work areas must be kept free and clear of trash (paper, plastic, cups, bottles, and gloves) or any items which are not necessary to perform work assignment.
• Identify and resolve issues in the assigned cell regarding equipment, personnel, process, training and materials, which conflict in obtaining maximum quality of production and efficiencies.
• Verify and sign off on First-Articles
• Record and control scrap and quality paperwork
• Inspect machines hourly in the assigned cell to ensure production of acceptable quality parts to prevent mass production of defective or unacceptable parts (scrap).
• Maintain all machine boards in the assigned cell with current information to communicate machine status, targets and goals to subordinates (Relief / Machine Operator, Material Handler)
• Instruct subordinates (Relief/Machine Operator, Material Handler) in the assigned cell to perform jobs necessary in obtaining maximum quality of production and efficiencies.
• Recommend methods to improve processes and practices, equipment performance and efficiency of operations.
• Verification of production working documents.
• Continue to develop processing skills as well equipment and material knowledge.
• In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required.
