Job Description

As our Electronic Technician at Mauser Packaging Solutions, you keep our line equipment running smoothly so we can deliver quality products to our customers on time. During morning shifts, your main job is to address any electrical issues on the line as they crop up. You must be quick on your feet to get to the line, troubleshoot the issue, and repair it as quickly as possible, ensuring minimal downtime and complete safety at all times. During afternoon shifts, you will do preventative maintenance, repairs, and updates that cannot be done while the line is running.



Essential Functions:

  • The following is a list of specific duties which are considered the essential functions of this job. The list is not exhaustive, as all positions at BWay are dynamic.   • Install, maintain, repair, replace and troubleshoot all electrical devices and hardware. This includes but is not limited to: all wiring, conduit, motors (ac and dc), switches breakers, analog and digital devices, PC boards, programmable controllers, computers, printers, software, audio cabling, network cabling and phone operation.
  • Observe all standard safety precautions, electrical codes and regulations, and maintain good housekeeping practices.

  • As a highly skilled specialist, contributes to the development of concepts and Completes complex tasks in creative and effective ways.
  • Consistently works on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues. Makes recommendations for new procedures.
  • SME, Mentoring/training, highly technical, fit in multiple locations

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of proven work experience as an Electrician
  • Certified electrician preferred
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment and mechanical systems involving electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and hydraulic repair or replacement, including blown fuses and tripped breakers.
  • Knowledge of PLC Logic, and ability to read schematics and blueprints.
  • Understand electrical panel and drive components.
  • Understand gear trains, shafts/journals, pulleys, and bearings.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to draw a 3 phase motor control Circuit
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Allen Bradley PLC experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Must be able to work Nights / Weekends


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Communication skills are still essential in order to help the workflow and to maintain
  • Acquired formal training in electronic theory and applications, feedback control system, electrical circuit schematics, blueprints, etc. is required.
  • Proficient use and understanding of all electronic devices, such as: oscilloscope, testers, tracers, signal generators, and others.
  • Obtain industrial truck operator license in order to use forklift truck.
  • Use of all necessary hand tools.
  • Requires a basic technical knowledge sufficient to deal with complicated electrical problems requiring the use of complicated schematics and specifications and intermediate mathematics.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
  • Must have good mechanical abilities including knowledge of design techniques, measuring instruments, comparator, hand power tools, principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, models, burning and welding equipment, hoists and hand carts.
  • Must be able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to machining problems.
  • Needs to be facile with hands.

  • Maintains industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
  • Demonstrated basic mathematical aptitude, skills in basic mathematical calculations, decimals and fractions.
  • Must comply with quality, PPE requirements and safety and understand the importance of complying with safety policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to be on feet up to 8-12 hours per shift
  • Use of hands and fingers to perform job function
  • Position is associated with pushing, pulling, climbing, handling, reaching, stretching, and working in tight and high places.
  • Must have the physical ability and coordination to remove and replace parts that may weigh up to 45 lbs.
  • This position is active indoors or outdoors in maintenance.
