Director of Finance – Small Packaging Metal Operations
The Director of Finance for the Small Packaging Metals Operations is the finance lead for a ~$1B division of the North American Small Packaging Business Unit (NASP) at Mauser Packaging Solutions (MPS).
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance, NASP with a strong dotted line to the Vice President of Metal Operations, this role will lead all financial aspects of the Division, including budgeting & forecasting; accounting and controlling; product costing; reviewing and ensuring compliance with key controls; providing insightful and actionable financial analysis and thought leadership to product and plant profitability, plant productivity (labor, spoilage, and spend), fixed costs, capital expenditure, continuous improvement initiatives, etc.; and is the finance business partner to the VP of Metal Ops and his leadership team.
Reporting to the role will be two finance managers as well as six Plant Controllers across nine manufacturing locations within the US.

Responsibilities:
- Coach, motivate, and challenge plant Controllers and accounting teams to increase analytics, accuracy, and standardization, ensure financial statements are in accordance with GAAP and that a rigorous control structure is established and adhered to.
- This position provides a critical linkage between finance, sales, operations, and shared services teams ensuring that all perspectives are properly understood and acted upon.
- Lead the forecasting process for the business unit, with responsibility for timely and accurate annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and current month outlooks as well as to quickly understand and communicate variances and their root causes and drivers.
- Develop and lead financial analyses relating to growth initiatives, cost savings, pricing, product costing, profitability, acquisitions, divestitures, investments, product development, and supply chain/operations initiatives.
- Identify and highlight historical trends, changing marketplaces, customer demands, and geographic trends.
- Implement key performance indicators with granular analysis of internal performance drivers and levers to improve.
- Oversee centralized accounting entries and accruals, ensuring accuracy and management visibility to provide a “no-surprise” environment.
- Partner with the business on quote/bid preparation, analyze customer and product profitability and assist with customer presentations to drive sales.
- Drive business-wide analytic projects to achieve sales, process, and operational improvements, including identifying and proposing/driving improvements in data governance
- Lead and participate in cross-functional teams implementing strategies for key product lines.
- Ability to build rapport, glean insights from, and influence business partners across all areas and at all levels of the company in order to deliver results.
- Develop, propose, and drive the implementation of sustainable process improvements.
