Summary: 

The Data & Financial Analyst, FP&A will be a key analytical resource to the Small Packaging Finance and Sales Teams.

Reporting to the Manager, FP&A for NASP, this position will support the existing reporting structure for Sales, Finance and Accounting, assist with the transitions/architect/document to an Azure/EDW environment and develop advanced MS Excel/Power BI reporting.

As a key FP&A resource, this role will provide data governance to critical reporting fields, aggregate/realign various data sources into a consumable reporting table to provide in-depth detailed analytics, and cross functionally support other departments within the organization. Various analyses include but are not limited to: ABC Analysis, Volume/Mix, Shock/Cost Analysis, ASP/Pricing Actions and Sales & Volume trend/regression planning/forecasting/reporting.

This role is highly visible with senior leadership and is tasked with various ad hoc/what-if analysis with quick turnaround times.

Key activities

  • Maintain the existing MS Excel/MS Access reporting models via data extractions from SAP, data management/realignment tools and 3rd party data.
  • Review/validate data for accuracy and consistency and work with any other teams necessary to improve accuracy and reliability of data
  • Prepare internal management daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting and analysis to support senior leadership and sales - such as the Daily Sales Report, ABC Customer analysis, Logistical Heat Maps and Key Customer reporting.
  • Assist with the budget and forecasting analysis/templates for FP&A by leveraging trend analysis and 3rd party software. Load the final approved Volume, Revenue, and Cost budgets into SAP.
  • Drive the reporting transition to Azure/EDW via Microsoft SQL Server. Replicate and enhances the existing MS Access SQL to Microsoft SQL Server. Create consumable reporting tables for Power BI/Power Query.
  • Create new Power BI reporting dashboards mirroring existing reporting and identified reporting from senior leadership.
  • Experience with SAP (ERP system) and the ability to query and directly access transactional level data tables strongly preferred
  • Collect and analyze geo fields, key attributes, and industry & general economic data to support longer-term strategic planning
  • Passion for reporting excellence thru process improvements, technological efficiencies, and transparency.

Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Data Analytics required
  • Advanced/Expert-level Excel skills and demonstrable ability to efficiently create advanced/dynamic data modeling thru VBA, Pivots, Slicers, and nested statements
  • Microsoft SQL Server, SQL, MS Access, Power BI, Power Query, and Python considered a plus
  • 2+ years of experience (non-manager role) with data analysis & FP&A is preferred (including senior projects/thesis and internships)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a desire to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and complete time-sensitive duties with detailed data and inputs across the organization.
  • Demonstrable ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • This is a hands-on position; and a successful candidate will have to roll up their sleeves to succeed.
